Spine with a manuscript "24" towards foot, edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed with loss to tips. Much edgewear, corners rubbed, lacking some leather, boards stained, soiled. Prior owners name in manuscript neatly to front free endpaper. Spine rubbed, lacking color at foot, missing 1/2" x 3/4" inch at head of spine, hinges rubbed with loss of color. Covers soiled, stained, apparent dampstain to top of boards affecting last few pages. Heavy foxing, some closed tears to pages. Finger smudges, marginal writing in pencil. Comprising magazines from April 1850 (Vol.2), June-October 1850 (Vols.4-10), Jan-Dec 1851 (Vols. 1-12), Jan 1852 (Vol.1) ech with musical notation and news of the world of music during the year. The last Issue (Jan.1852) changes the name to Musical Review and Choral Advocate.

From Wiki: Isaac Baker Woodbury (October 23, 1819 – 1858) was a 19th-century composer and publisher of church music, most famous for publishing The Dulcimer: or the New York Collection of Sacred Music, one of the best-known collections of Christian hymns of the era. His best-known hymn tunes include Siloam and Esmonton. He also published the American Monthly Musical Review and the New York Musical Pioneer. Woodbury studied music in London and Paris before embarking upon a career as a church organist, writer, editor, and teacher in Boston and New York. In total he published fifteen books of sacred music and fourteen books of school and secular music; he also founded the National Music Convention.
