This 1828 Boston edition, published by Timothy Bedlington, is divided into two parts: General Surgical Subjects and Particular Surgical Subjects, with accompanying plates.

8vo. (5.5" x 8.75"). Bound in full dark brown calf with six spine compartments and gilt lettering on a red leather label in the second compartment.

Condition: The spine has tearing at both the head and foot, with the top of the front board partially disconnected from the spine. There is additional tearing at the upper left and lower right corners of the front board, with rubbing along the edges of both boards. Foxing is present along the edges of the front pastedown and first free endpaper, with some biological damage to the top of the endpaper.

Illustrated with one plate on the third free endpaper and eight plates of surgical instruments and anatomical diagrams at the rear.

An interesting early 19th-century medical textbook, particularly suited to collections relating to medical education, anatomy, surgical instruments, and the history of medical practice.
