This scholarly volume examines the voyages of the Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano and includes 46 photographic reproductions of antique maps at the rear.

Quarto (8.5" x 11.5"), 319 pages plus 46 plates. Bound in full navy moiré fabric, with a gilt masted ship design centered on the upper board and gilt lettering with a gilt rule frame on the spine. The dust jacket is lacking. Condition is very good, with very minor edgewear, slight ruffling at the head and foot of the spine, and a light stain to the upper fore-edge that does not extend onto the individual pages.
