"La Guirlande des Dunes" ("The Garland of the Dunes") by Émile Verhaeren, 1927. Paris: L’Édition d’Art H. Piazza. 8vo (6.25" x 8.75"), 130 pages. Limited Edition No. 106 of 160 copies on Imperial Japanese paper, from a total edition of 1,100 copies. The original paper wrappers are bound in.

The volume is handsomely bound in three-quarter brown leather with generous corners over marbled boards, featuring bright gilt rules to the leather edges, four raised bands, gilt lettering to the second and fourth spine compartments, and gilt “1927” at the foot. Top edge gilt and marbled endpapers. Extremities are lightly rubbed.

Illustrated with 30 plates in two states, including one hand-colored, making this an especially attractive example of this finely produced Art Edition. The limitation statement confirms that copies 41–200 on Imperial Japanese paper contained a black-and-white suite, while the first 40 copies included additional color material and an original watercolor. This copy is specifically identified as No. 106, printed by G. Kadar in Paris, with printing completed May 15, 1927.
