F. S. Turner’s British Opium Policy is a critical examination of Britain’s involvement in the opium trade during the 19th century, particularly its impact on China and British colonies. Published in 1876, the book addresses the moral, economic, and political consequences of the British government’s promotion and regulation of the opium trade, primarily through the East India Company. The book is a significant work in understanding the broader historical context of the opium trade and its legacy within British foreign policy.
