These postwar Marxist and Trotskyist periodicals offer a compelling contemporary perspective on American politics, labor leadership, Stalinism, race, and the United States’ growing role as a world power. Among the notable articles is the first English publication of Leon Trotsky’s “Tolstoy, Poet and Rebel,” along with “Problems of American Politics,” “Stalinism and Negro Intellectuals,” a Trotsky Memorial issue, “American Labor Leaders,” “If America Should Go Communist,” and “Trotsky on the USA as a World Power.”

Volume XIII (1952) includes three issues covering six months, with March/April, May/June, and September/October absent. Volume XIV (1953) contains the January/February issue only.
