Half brown leather with generous corners, bright gilt rule to all leather edges, over brown pebbled leather with fancy gilt lettering centered to the upper boards. Spine with five gilt decorated raised bands, gilt lettering to second and fourth compartments, fancy gilt rule to heads and tails of spine. All edges gilt, dark blue endpapers with gilt floral pattern. Armorial bookplate of William Henry Gregg, St. Louis, Mo. to front pastedowns. All gutters tape strengthened. Minor edgewear, corners lightly bumped and rubbed. Small scuffs and scrapes to leather corner pieces. A beautiful set of books with hundreds of illustrations and plates.
