David Hume was a Scottish Enlightenment philosopher, historian, and essayist—widely regarded as one of the greatest thinkers in Western philosophy. His 'History of England' is a monumental six-volume work covering the history of England from the Roman invasion under Julius Caesar up through the Glorious Revolution of 1688. It was published between 1754 and 1762 and became one of the most influential historical works of the 18th century.
