160mo.(3.25" x 5.125") 2 volumes in 1. c1830. Pope, Alexander and Addison, Joseph. London: T. Davis. Half black polished leather with corners, fancy blindstamp rule to all leather edges, over dark green pebbled cloth boards. Spine with four raised bands, gilt authors to gilt bordered red leather in second compartment, single gilt devices centered to each other compartment. All edges reddened. Edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed. Spine and hinges with craquelure with minor chipping (see pic).

From Wiki: Joseph Addison was an English essayist, poet, playwright, and politician. He was the eldest son of Lancelot Addison. His name is usually remembered alongside that of his long-standing friend Richard Steele, with whom he founded The Spectator magazine. Alexander Pope was an English poet, translator, and satirist of the Enlightenment era who is considered one of the most prominent English poets of the early 18th century.
