"In Lightest Africa and Darkest Europe" by Captain P. B. Williams, published in London in 1936. This mid-20th-century work offers a perspective on Africa and Europe, with a particular connection to East Africa.
Octavo, in black cloth with the title, author, and publisher stamped on the spine; the lettering is dimmed but readable. The binding shows bumped and rounded corners, rubbing at the crown and foot of the spine, and stains to the rear board. The book has been partially rebacked, with the rear board considerably more tense than the front and visible evidence of poor restitching along the spine hinge. A previous owner's inscription appears on the first free endpaper.
