BIBLIA, Thet är: All then Helga Skrift, På Swensko. Med Stora Kyrko-Bibelen, Til Summarier, Concordantier, Anmärkingar, Register, Biblisk Tideräkning m. m. jämförd och öfwerensstämmande. Translated: THE BIBLE, That is: All the Holy Scripture, In Swedish. Compared and concordant with the Large Church Bible, Including Summaries, Concordances, Notes, Index, Biblical Chronology, etc. 1794. Gothenburg: Samuel Norberg.

8vo.(7" x 8.875") 5" Thick! (146), 1416, 408 pp. Full brown calf over thick beveled boards with metal ornamentation, wanting straps. Spine with craquelure, leather flaking, chipped with closed tears to head and foot. The boards are scuffed, rubbed, and appears to have been worked on in the past. The metal ornamentation comprises "crown-like" strapping to hinges and fore-edge with "folded" bands at the corners with a small decorative metal diamond centered on each board (see pics). Multiple lines of manuscript in old ink, of ownership and notes, to both pastedowns and front and rear of front free endpaper, which is almost laid in. Title page and next few pages with tears to fore-edge, affecting a couple of letters of text on the following pages. Text does not appear to have ever been trimmed, with even margins and no appreciative loss. The Bible appears complete with the only major issue being that the last two pages of Revelation and the rear free flyleaf and endpaper are lacking. The last page of text present shows up to Revelations 20:v9, with a small loss to the page closest to the gutter towards the foot, obliterating several letters at the end of several sentences. Yes, this Bible shows its age, and happily so, as this Bible evidently was loved and used for a couple of hundred years prior to being acquired by this shop.
