Full green publisher's cloth with heavy gilt decoration, gilt title and author, and illustrator to cover. Gilt decoration/title/author/illustrator to spine. Beige endpapers. Slight sun-fading and small tears to the head and tail of spine, with no loss. With rare dust cover, now protected in Brodart cover. Small, closed tears to dust cover edges with minor loss to corner folds and head of spine, affecting text. All in all, a beautiful book.

All 50 colorful plates and captioned tissues present. Although this is a second edition of Rackham's work, it is considered the finest edition with the fifty color plates bound throughout the text, a new frontispiece, and with an additional seven black and white illustrations that are not present in the 1906 edition.
