"Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, prepared under the authority of the Supreme Council for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States and published by its authority," together with the "Digest-Index of Morals and Dogma" by Albert Pike and T. W. Hugo. Published in Charleston in 1924, this substantial two-part volume presents Pike’s influential Masonic philosophical and symbolic teachings alongside a digest-index for reference. Illustrated with a photographic frontispiece and numerous in-text drawings.

Octavo (6" x 9"). 861 pages, plus 218 pages of digest-index. Bound in full burgundy cloth with blind-stamped rules framing the boards, a large gilt crowned double-headed eagle on the upper board, and a matching design in blindstamp on the rear. The spine features faded gilt lettering and decoration; the top edge is gilt. The binding shows edgewear, bumped and rubbed corners, and ruffled spine ends with tiny closed tears and some color loss at the foot. The boards are stained, particularly the rear, and the spine is sun-darkened with faded but legible gilt. Foxing affects several leaves at the front and rear of the text block, while the interior is otherwise neat and clean. A prior owner’s name is neatly written in ink at the head of the front pastedown.

A substantial vintage Masonic reference for collectors of Freemasonry, Scottish Rite history, and esoteric philosophy.
